Rental property agents aren’t exactly tops on most people’s list for honesty and integrity, but a pair of 27-year-old Boston University grads are changing all that with a brokerage that puts apartment-seekers first.

“We want to change the negative perceptions renters people have about agents,” said Proper Realty Group CEO and founder Jason Schuster, who started the company in his senior year at BU after working for a local brokerage.

“We’re renters too, so we understand how stressful finding the right apartment can be,” said president and co-owner Alex Steinberg, also 27, who joined his pal after graduation and the two still room together. “We believe in full disclosure, no fees and providing renters with as many options as possible to find them places where they want to be.”
